KUKKIWON TAEKWONDO ACADEMY

WE TEACH TAEKWONDO. PERIOD.

We are dedicated to the art and tradition of taekwondo in its purest form. For strength. For confidence. For discipline. Taekwondo is one of the most structured and technical martial arts and it requires undivided attention. But the lessons do not stop there. Taekwondo also trains your mind and enhances your well-being. For many, taekwondo is a lifelong quest. Of course, we are here to help you, drive you, challenge you at every step, kick, and punch of the way.

Our Master, Young Kim, began his journey and training in Korea when we was 4 years old. Thirty years later, he keeps his promise of staying true to the honored methods and teachings of true taekwondo.

No matter what your level, you will learn and advance from our undiluted taekwondo programs.

MASTER INSTRUCTOR

MASTER YOUNG KIM

Master Young Kim is a native Korean who has taught Taekwondo for over 24 years and trained for 35years. At the age of 4, he discovered his passion for the true art and philosophy of Taekwondo. Once moving to the United States and seeing the modifications and differences taught here, it only made him more resolved to stay true to the traditions and original intent of Taekwondo.

ABOUT TAEKWONDO

Taekwondo literally means “the art of the foot and fist” in Korean. It is now the most practiced martial art in the world. We are proud to continue the strict heritage of the traditional and original forms of Taekwondo. From self-defense to discipline and meditation, taekwondo is a lifelong journey – both physical and philosophical.

The focus on kicking in Taekwondo distinguishes it from martial arts like karate or southern styles of kung fu. The leg is the longest and strongest weapon of a martial artist, and the kick has the greatest potential for powerful strikes without successful retaliation.

The word Kukkiwon refers to the home of taekwondo in Seoul, South Korea. It is where the heart of taekwondo beats. We are an extension of that home. We are as one – even though we are thousands of miles apart.
